6:00 – 7:20 AM – Hatha Yoga
7:30 – 8:30 AM – Yoga Anatomy


6:00 – 7:20 PM – Alignment & Teaching
7:30 – 8:30 PM – Yoga Philosophy & Meditation

PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE:

A – Curiosity to practise & learn Yoga beyond the mat
B – Basic Yoga Asana Practice
C – Do mention if you have any injury

SYLLABUS:

1. Hatha Yoga: 

 

Setting up the environment, Centering, Starting prayer, Warm-ups, Pawanmuktasana Series (Sukshma Vyayama) Asanas – Standing, Kneeling, Seated, Prone, Supine, Pranayamas, Final Relaxation, Concluding Prayer

2. Yoga Anatomy: 

 

Introduction to all the systems of the human body, Special focus on Musculoskeletal System, Posture specific Anatomy

3. Alignment & Teaching:

 

How to move into & out of the posture, Avoid injuries with right alignment, Teaching – warm ups, asanas, pranayamas & full 80-minute session

4. Yoga Philosophy:


A. Introduction of Yoga: Etymology, Meaning, Origins, Development of Yoga, Introduction to Samkhya Philosophy


B. Yoga Sutras of Patanjali: Definition, Fluctuations of the mind, Practice & Dispassion, Concept of Ishvara, Pranava (Om), Samadhi, Kriya Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.


C. Daily Mindfulness meditation

REQUIREMENTS TO COMPLETE THE COURSE:

1. 90% attendance is compulsory, otherwise required to give an
additional asana practice test.
2. Appear for the theory, practical and teaching assessments.
3. Give presentations in Anatomy & Philosophy classes.
